When I reviewed Cubase SX3, just over a year ago, I mentioned ASK Video’s SX ED tutorial series, which comprises level 1, 2 & 3 DVDs, available individually, or as a set. At the time I had been sent just the level 2 disc, which I though was “excellent” (and that’s a quote), but was unable to comment on the rest of the series. Recently though, I was sent the full set and so was able to set about reviewing all three discs…a task completed just in time to hear the announcement of Cubase SX4…that’s the pace of modern technology for you…or possibly irony…not that it matters as whichever version of Cubase you’re using, these DVDs are essential viewing…and that’s another quote! If you read my recent review of Total Training’s Digital Video Collection Professional Plus bundle, you’ll know that I’m a big fan of their tutorial DVDs, so it’ll come as no great surprise that I’m giving them full marks for this bundle, which is, without question, a superb resource for anyone wanting to learn the ins and outs of Adobe Creative Suite 2.

With 3 major expos in rapid succession, January is always a big month for all things tech, but January 2006 seems to be taking da cheesecake.
Adobe make some great applications, but they’re not exactly the easiest to learn…especially for newcomers…so it’s lucky that help is at hand in the shape of Total Training’s ‘Digital Video Collection Professional Plus Bundle’. Designed to accompany Adobe Video Collection Professional 2.5, it contains a massive 30 DVDs, with an even more massive total running time of 102 hours….yes…102 hours…and having watched all 102 hours…during one lunchtime (I was hungry)…I think I can say with some authority, buy them! It’s been a while since I last checked out Cubase, but bearing in mind that a very close homee of mine recently wrote a triple platinum album with it and that it’s recently undergone a major update from version 2 to version 3, now seemed like a good time.
